Up for review is one of our top picks for pay as you go cell phones, or it can be used with your family phone plans. Its name alone brings an air of sophistication and elegance. At the first ever glance, Samsung Omnia SGH-I900 definitely does not disappoint. Released around the same time as rival iPhone, this was Samsung’s answer to Apple. Omnia could have had toppled the market favorite if only for its beautiful, modern looking look. But with closer inspection, this mobile phone is only inspired and patterned after the iPhone as one of the smartest cellular phones on the market.

The screen is 3.2 inches and 240×400 pixels. Its camera, perhaps, is its sharpest feature. Omnia SGH-I900 has a 5 megapixel camera. It also boasts of autofocus, face detection, and the very important flash mode. In this area, this Samsung phone definitely crushes the competition, and makes other phones look quite ordinary. The wide, high-resolution screen and very responsive touch screen definitely serve well when you go back to viewing your pictures.

This mobile phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional software, and PC users may find using this software quite familiar. However, Windows Mobile is not as user-friendly as iPhone’s Apple software. And the stylus might be quite a problematic feature, too. You can’t really go that far in this phone with your trusty stylus.

Other features include HDSPA 7.2 connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB. For storage, you may choose between the 8 gigabyte or 16 gigabyte series. Talk time and battery life is also its strong suit, lasting for as long as 390 minutes (unlike the iPhone whose battery dies so easily on you).

Over all, if you’re looking for a phone to accompany you as you stylishly strut down the street, this is the phone choice for you. It’s also a bit cheaper than its other rival touch screen phones.. In terms of features, though, especially if you’re using your phone also as an e-mail device, it may not be your best bet.

HTC had become popular with its release of the Touch Diamond, which was a slim, sleek and smart phone. Apparently, the next release, the Touch Pro is neither of these.

The Touch Pro runs on the familiar Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional software for mobile phones. Camera is 3.2 megapixels and comes with a flash. Connectivity features include HSDPA 7.2, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB. It has a built-in memory of only 288 MB, but can be expanded (but you have to buy the SD card on your own). The phone is available in both 2G and 3G.

Its disadvantages, however, take away from the wonderful features it has. First, there is the slide-out keyboard. It definitely adds extra bulk and weight to the mobile phone. And although the keyboard is laid out for you like that already, typing may still prove to be quite a difficult task. Keys are way too flat, and rarely will you hit a key without touching the others beside it. Second, it does not have a large memory nor is a memory card included when you buy the phone. This means that there’s only a limited amount of file you can put in the phone. You may opt to buy a memory card, but this of course, will cause extra. Another feature that is quite smart is the stylus’ ability to launch the OneNote once you draw it away from the phone.

Perhaps, the best aspect of this phone is its very wide, very high-resolution screen. Pictures and images appear very clearly and zooming is breezy with just one touch of the finger. However, its camera is still very unexceptional. If the phone doesn’t have a great photo taking abilities, the user might lose the interest to review his photos, making the fantastic hi-res screen, well, not so fantastic.

The verdict: this phone is only mighty and big on the outside, but quite a lackluster mobile device. I sure is better than many of those cheap used verizon cell phones.

A lot of us have to thank the company, Apple for making the best gadgets in the last few years. First, there was iPod, the revolutionary music player that took the world by storm. Have you seen anyone who doesn’t have those signature white ear phones stuck to their ears? It was only a matter of time before the geniuses at Apple came up with a mobile phone just as endearing, and certainly as functional as the iPod. We all know what it is—the iPhone!

Apple has announced that it would be selling the new mobile phone called the iPhone in January 2007. Months before its release, every one was pre-ordering this mobile phone. In June of the same year, everyone was scrambling to have one. The iPhone definitely did not disappoint.

Since then, it has been regarded as the best of the touch screen phones. How can you go wrong with it? It is sleek but definitely cool-looking (all the Hollywood stars have it!). More than that, it’s teeming with useful applications and endless special features. The phone is also a camera, as well as a music player, organizer, an Internet and e-mail device. The wide display allows for the best usage of multimedia applications. The screen is so big that images are clearer than ever. It’s also the most conducive phone to play videos in. The touch screen, too, is certainly efficient, with virtual keys that are responsive to the touch.

The camera could be considered a not-so-good feature. Unlike other phones, images taken are not as clear or enhanced. The camera is very prone to shaking, and therefore, blurred photos. Talk time, too, is not very long. Battery gets depleted in only a few hours. The PSP Go for sale is a great new product that Sony just came out with.

Today, Apple has released the next generation of the phone, the iPhone 3G. You may want to consider buying the newer version if you are planning on buying a mobile phone. Anyhow, during its time as the king of phones, it certainly made and is still making heaps of people happy.
